9/11 Truth Movement Continues to Ask QuestionsConference Informs Public About Inconsistencies of Official Stories
Speakers at the "Edmonton Questions 9/11" conference present arguments that challenge the official story of the events of 9/11.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney has made numerous appearances publicly justifying approved policies of torture and other human rights violations. Speaking on May 21, 2009 at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative policy organization, Cheney was quoted by McClatchy Newspapers as stating that, in assessing the security environment after 9/11, the Bush team had to take into account "dictators like Saddam Hussein with known ties to Mideast terrorists." That is where the 9/11 Truth Movement comes in. They organize events, among other activities, to ensure that dialogue with the public continues on this subject and push for a well-funded investigation with subpoena powers. Host Doug Brinkman, of the group Edmonton 9/11 Truth, introduced Barry Zwicker and Bruce Sinclair on May 2, 2009 at the Stanley Milner Public Library. These speakers are representatives of a movement of citizens from all walks of life that are continuing to demand answers for the events of 9/11. Journalist Explains Why the Official Story does not Explain What Really HappenedBarry Zwicker is the author of Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11. This political activist and media critic was the first journalist to go on national TV to deeply question official stories. "It is a journalist's job to ask questions and none of those questions have been asked by the mainstream media," says Zwicker. One of the most problematic aspects of the official story, according to Zwicker, is the collapse of the towers themselves. "How could three towers made of reinforced structural steel all collapse in under the time it takes a telephone to ring twice - approximately 10 second or less? That is contrary to all laws of physics," explains Zwicker. He is not alone with these suspicions. Architects and engineers have also expressed disbelief of official reports because of the physical evidence. The most provocative aspect of Zwicker's presentation is a rather jarring reminder of the 1933 Reichstag Fire in which the Nazi party of Germany burned down their own parliament building and blamed opposition groups. Zwicker's talk drew parallels between the successful Nazi power grab, other false flag operations and the political landscape in the aftermath of the events of 9/11. Aviation Professionals are Focused on Determining the Facts Based on Solid DataCaptain Bruce Sinclair has been a licensed pilot for over 42 years and has flown for numerous airlines logging in 20,000 hours of flying experience. He is part of a group of committed aviation specialists and pilots, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, throughout the world. Sinclair presented a film by Robert Balsamo that focuses on discrediting the official story that explains the attack on the Pentagon. "The official story does not jive with the official documentation which is provided by the National Transport Safety Board under the Freedom of Information Act. There is a huge disconnect between those elements and we are trying to determine why there are disconnects," says Sinclair. Although the film requires a certain level of mathematics and physics in order to easily follow the argument, some messages are loud and clear:
"In the enquiries that have been made on our behalf with the National Transport Safety Board and the FBI, the answers have been consistently no comment which is really unacceptable and inappropriate in a free and democratic society," explains Sinclair. The conference ended with a lively audience question and answer session about the issues that were raised during the presentations.
